The Farmer’s Cow Farm Tours are educational and fun for all ages. Host Ned Ellis is a fourth-generation farmer who is proud to show everyone around Mapleleaf Farm and to talk about dairy farming. The Ellis’ strive to be good stewards of their land and resources. Solar panels installed through the Connecticut Farm Energy Program generate approximately 40% of the electricity needed to operate the farm. They also have protected 450 acres from development, ensuring farming will continue on the land for generations to come.
